Many of us who use Goalline powered sites rarely think about what, or even who, is behind Goalline. The reality is that the Goalline team is made up of all former athletes, many of who are moms and dads, and who have children playing and involved in amateur sports. 

The impetus behind the Goalline vision was that there had to be an easier way to manage an amateur sports association, and “hey, wouldn’t it be great if we could see those statistics up on the web.” As many successful technology solutions offer, to be successful Goalline had to matter to moms, dads and volunteers that run amateur sports organizations. As President and Founder Gord Dickie notes, “Goalline is all about simply offering a great tool at a minimal price so people can have more fun, and volunteering to help an amateur sports organization doesn’t have to turn into a second job for someone.” 

With a roster of over 1200 organizations (and over 45, 000 teams) across North America, the proof of this approach has been borne out, as more and more teams, organizations and associations become savvy enough with technology that they immediately see the benefit of managing their volunteer tasks with a powerful system such as Goalline. As Dickie notes, “Each new member enjoys the accrued benefits of the thousands of other members and volunteers that have come before them; if someone has thought of a problem in managing their team, league or association, there is a good chance we’ve already solved it, and built that function into Goalline. Our scope and scale is why we can offer our great service at such a minimal price point.” 

In my own neck of the woods, I know our minor hockey association uses Goalline everyday to publish stats, generate awareness of new rules or events, and keep everyone organized with ice times, results and so on. In this respect, Goalline is really crucial to those of us busy moms and dads who barely have time to cook supper, let alone coordinate a practice and game schedules for kids from novice to bantam.
